Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the big stars of E3 2018, with a trailer in the Microsoft conference and a closed-door gameplay. We present the characters of the 50 minute demo, as well as new details of Night City, the location where the new CD Projekt RED for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
If you had to choose the best games of the E3 2018 , Cyberpunk 2077 would take the first position in the vast majority of lists. And it is not for less: after remaining silent for longer than we would like, CD Projekt RED returned in style with a new cinematic trailer that put the finishing touch to the Microsoft conference and that has left us all with the twisted ass. Are we going to see it again? I already tell you yes.
Luckily, the trailer was not the only thing that the Poles took to the fair: inside the Convention Center, in Los Angeles, a few fortunate and fortunate could see a demo gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 of nothing more and nothing less than 50 minutes, moved by a NASA PC (although CD Projekt insists that it targets the current generation of consoles ). We were among those lucky, and we are still trying to process everything we saw.
As we know that this has not been enough to calm your desire for neon cities, implants that grant super powers and murderous androids, we bring you something so that you can immerse yourself completely in the lore of Cyberpunk 2077 : the cards of the characters that starred in the demo -including the protagonist-, as well as information about the different groups and organizations of Night City , the city where the game is played. Let’s start
V
This is the protagonist, which unlike Geralt in The Witcher 3 , we can customize to start the game with a complex character creation system, which allows us to choose their sex (in the E3 demo was a woman) to create a argumental background. We can also choose between different classes: Netrunner , Techie , Solo or a mixture of all of them.
Jackie Welles
As a mercenary, Jackie is a highly trained killer. If we were in the Wild West, it would surely be a gunman or a bounty hunter. But this is 2077, so it’s a cyberpunk … although second division. And he’s looking forward to going first.
Dexter Deshawn
The fixers (repairmen) as Dexter engaged in illegal business falsifying contracts: robberies, murders, kidnappings, drug trafficking … The kind of business you’re imagining. They do it for a price, of course. They are the links between clients and mercenaries. In Night City, fixers are hard to find, but Dexter is exceptional. It is of the highest level, and has a wide network of contracts and an agenda with the best mercenaries.
Royce
Night City is the city of megacorporations, but street gangs also have a piece of power pie. The Watson district has a particularly serious problem with a band known as Maelstrom. Royce is their leader. It is dedicated to assaulting corporate transports and selling stolen technology on the streets. He is cold, calculating and distrustful. People believe that he is a psychopath, but it could be a facade to instill fear in others.
Doctor Victor
When the technology progressed, implants became commonplace. It’s the reason why the people of Night City need the ripperdocs . The ripperdocs are medical technicians: half doctors, half engineers. They can heal you in a pispás, sew your guts after they have cracked you up and down and take care of bullet wounds. And if your implanted technology is broken, they can fix it or install new illegal parts. Victor is an expert in both: the scalpel and the screwdriver. Having been a top-notch physicist for years, he has plenty of experience.
Meredith Stout (agent of Militech)
Corporate executives are the new aristocracy of the world of Cyberpunk 2077 . They contemplate the city from the top, sitting in their luxurious chairs at the top of the skyscrapers of the corporate district. Meredith is an egomaniac who will stop at nothing in order to achieve her goals … Consa that she gets frequently. Live and breathe corporatism. Despise ordinary people and spit on all lower class people.
Militech
A megacorporation, a military potentate and, above all, the private equivalent of the American military forces. If you have enough money to hire them, they can be peacekeepers or covert commandos sent to silence an annoying local politician.
Trauma Team
Paramedics with weapons. VERY big weapons! Their characteristic armored ambulances will take them to any part of the city in a few minutes. If necessary, they will unleash the hell on Earth for their clients.
Implants
There are many types of implants in Cyberpunk 2077, including reflex enhancers like Kereznikov (which allow us to slow down time), or visual enhancements to combat such as the Kiroshi Thermal Viewer (to see enemies through the walls).
Night City_
Night City is made up of six districts, starting with their biggest pride, City Center . It is the heart of corporations, the cluster of neons and the quintessence of lust. A unique blend of Asian cultures comes together at Watson , a ruined corporate giant that now shelters immigrants, and where several bazaars and markets are hidden in a labyrinth of narrow alleys. With Japantown as a tourist attraction, Westbrook is a place for the rich who like to work hard and play even harder.
If you live in one of the neighborhoods of Heywood , where the Latin presence predominates, it means that you have successfully ascended the social pyramid. It is a gigantic housing suburb, with an underlying gang problem. On the other side of the spectrum we have Pacifica : the most dangerous part of the city, abandoned and invaded by the bands. Separated from the rest of the city, it is a place of immense poverty.
All the energy of Night City comes from Santo Domingo , with countless power plants and industrial factories, trapped in an incessant cycle of modernization.
One of the most important elements of Cyberpunk 2077 is vertical scanning. For example, the V apartment in the demo was located in a mega-building with multiple floors. Each floor is home to several NPCs, secrets and possible missions.
Players can explore the city using cars and motorcycles. The combat on wheels (with destruction of vehicles) is a possibility.
